St. Patrick’s Day 2012

This really was a fun year for St. Patrick’s Day! The last couple of years, we’ve gone into the city to see the big parade, and they have been cool. But this year we chose to stay and go to one of our local village’s parades, which was a good thing. We saw TONS of people we know, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We almost didn’t get to go though because of the rain. But, it was awesome, and it stopped just in time for the parade to start. It was fun too having a group here that had just landed the day before seeing some real Irish culture literally on parade. Of course, there were some more “interesting” themed entries this year. Here’s just a few of them…

You guys all thought Obama may be spending the day hosting the Irish Prime Minister at the White House. According to reports, he was...but according to this pic I got, he was in our parade enjoying the day with the local Guards. Who knew?

And of course, his good friend the Queen of England came back over too...

A couple of lads were deep into training for the London 2012 games...

And of course, no St. Patrick's Day Parade would be complete without a protest complete with the Grim Reaper.

  1. Don’t forget the kids holding the sign, “Guiness for strentgh” (their spelling not mine). I loved the little local parade we saw when I came out in ’03 to see y’all.
