Wow! I’ve never had this much trouble getting pics done. Everything from being exhausted to pics being lost in transfer to not enough space on my computer…this has been a multi-day affair just getting all these pics sorted!! So, I’m sorry about how long this has taken.
BUT…the best part is, all the photos have been sorted. Now for the posting!! 😀
We had a fantastic time in Disneyland. Jen and I have been to Disney World (for all you people that think that’s better) but there’s nothing like the original article. The place where it all began. Walking back into the place took me back to my own child-hood and all the memories of times I’d been there before, and gave me such joy to be able to share this with my own kids. The look on their faces all 3 days we were there never changed. It was just awe, amazement and excitement. They learned from the very start that they never knew what they were going to see next!! It was a blast. And that we got to have Jen’s parents and brother there made it even better. Truly, a magical time. There’s so many stories to share, so I’ll try to keep it to a minimum, but I do hope you enjoy this and the following posts (yes, there’s a lot of photos coming…this will be a new record of pics posted for a single event for us!) Enjoy!!! Here’s some of the shots from Day 1. (yes, I said some…) 😀
First stop! So excited to be there!! But you can tell seeing the sun is still bothering the kids! Ha!
First surprise as we entered…Pinocchio was there greeting everyone!
Great to be back on Main Street! There were lots of people there, but not nearly as many as I’ve seen before. We never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride anywhere!
The girls get their first view of Cinderella’s Castle!
getting on their first ride…Snow White!
Jen even got to enjoy a walk down memory lane…she got to ride a few times with her dad
Here we all are! (And yes, I was wearing my Batman shirt…I was trying to drop a subtle suggestion for Disney’s next franchise take-over)
Isaac’s first ride – King Aurthur’s Carousel
Isaac on the carousel…we had to wait a few minutes for it to start. You can almost hear him saying, “Well are we going to do something here or what??)
Cailyn was soooo excited to ride Dumbo. She’s with her uncle Thom
Isaac and mom on Dumbo…
In line to ride Indiana Jones
We had several moments like this…a little fear before experiencing something new. Hannah was bawling after the ride, but went on it again and loved it!
Strapping into the Jeep for Indiana Jones. For some reason Jen and her mom were having trouble!
My favorite pic…me and the kids on the Jungle Cruise
Isaac was so proud to have climbed Tarzan’s tree house all by himself!!!
The girls with Tarzan and Jane
trying things out…
We were nearly blessed with an impromptu concert from Jen’s brother Thom (who is an unbelievably gifted percussionist) until Cailyn stole the mallets from him…LOL
In line for Pirates of the Caribbean! (Which now includes Johny Depp like Captain Jack Sparrow mannequins.)
Mom and Isaac (and Jen’s dad in the background) on Pirates)
The girls heading into the Haunted House for the first time…
This is Disney’s shot of us on our first ride on Splash Mountain. Thom got soaked completely, but overall it was just an awesome time. Hilarious faces, especially from Jen!! (Plus, some random guy was in our boat)
Riding the train…Cailyn using Thom’s hat for protection!
