Abandoned

The area around Ouray is littered with thousands of old abandoned mine tunnels. Back during the late 1800’s, people came from all over the world seeking their fortune in the gold and silver rich mountains. Today, there are still mining operations in place, but not to the extent of what it used to be. In the mountains, everywhere you look, are abandoned buildings, mines and ghost towns.
